Then with crushed freeze dried raspberries. An oat granola then the flambéed whisky was to create a honey whisky orange sauce and finished with sprigs of mint. This is out take on cranachan as tonight is Burns night.

Alison was joined by her friends and family to celebrate her Birthday. We were delighted to help cater a varied buffet of sweet and savoury dishes to suit everyone’s tastes. We had steve cater for my mum’s 50th birthday party Saturday afternoon. He came round a few hours before the party started and brought with him a whole variety of food. We gave him a few suggestions beforehand but most of it was his idea. Everyone was impressed with what choices were there.

He laid it all out with labels stating what each thing was and if it was suitable for vegetarians, he also prepared things like sandwiches at our house and everything else was also fresh. There were things there to meet everyone’s needs. The spread looked lovely and everyone complimented the food.

There was also plenty there even though we’re all big eaters and we had some left over! Definitely good for money! He also supplied paper plates and wooden cutlery so we didn’t have to worry about a thing. Steve himself was really nice and friendly and professional. Would recommend to anyone and would use him again!

Final evening catering Lytes Cary Manor

Last night was our final evening catering Lytes Cary Manor. We have spent four days with Nancy and her family and friends as a personal chef for them. The menu for their last night needed to have a gluten free option and a cows milk free option also. The menu is below and pictures of some of the dishes.

Catering Somerton

Last night we had our third day over at Lytes Cary Manor, catering Somerton, for Nancy Lowe and her friends and family. We needed to create a menu that includes an option that is gluten free, cows milk free, a vegetarian option (can include fish).

Personal chef Somerton

On Sunday it was our second night as a personal chef Somerton. We were cooking at Lytes Cary Manor again for Nancy and her family. Again we had to ensure there was an option for gluten free, cows milk free, A vegetarian option which can include fish, and an to have an option that didn’t have an unpasteurised cheese. All of the dishes were served family style. The menu for the evening I below and pictures of some of the dishes following that.

Roasted figs stuffed with blue cheese and rosemary drizzled with honey and served with rocket and air cured ham. (Quarter of these were served without blue cheese)

White bean, fennel and polenta salad with spinach and basil, served with a tomato and basil sauce.

Slow roasted lamb with mint sauce and gravy

Whole roasted Sea bream with a lemon, parsley and rapeseed dressing

All served with roasted potatoes, orange and rosemary roasted carrots, green beans served with a nutmeg butter.

Apple and blackberry crumble with a macadamia crumble. Stem ginger cream on the side.

Fruit salad with a mint, vanilla and lemon syrup on the side.

Wild mushroom consommé

We held a special Sunday lunch for Easter Sunday last weekend. Full details of the menu and pictures will be posted tomorrow but in the meantime I thought I would share a video with you. The video captures the starter of a crystal clear wild mushroom Consommé being poured over sautéed mushrooms, confited shallots, mushroom floss and parsley. The wild mushroom consommé is served in mini glass teapots so you can pour it over the other ingredients to finish the dish at the table.

Weymouth hen party

On Saturday evening we hosted a dinner party for a Weymouth hen party. This was located right on the esplanade with a beautiful ocean view. Hattie and was organising a special meal for the bride to be and contacted us a little while ago to put together a menu for this evening. After discussing requirements and looking through our menus we came down to final choices. We decided on a three course meal to suit the 13 of them. The Menu was as follows:-
